Brief Summary

Do you want to help design and create novel software applications? Want to work in an environment where design is respected, and innovation is a core strategic value?

In short, if you're smart and productive, technical and personable, creative and experienced, Lab49 is the place for you.

At a time when many firms are down-sizing, Lab49 is hiring top-flight UX Architects to work on the design and development of leading-edge trading systems.

Our projects demand the highest level of creative design and execution, combined with passion and skill in working with both technical and non-technical users.

For the right person, we offer the opportunity to work on challenging assignments with outstanding colleagues.

Description

At Lab49, our UX Architects work hand in hand with our development teams and our customers, envisioning and designing the applications we create. You will be responsible for every aspect of a system's user experience - the overall flow and layout of the screens, the fields and information presented, the actions and interactions that are provided, and the visualizations of the data. You'll be involved in solving workflow problems, developing new ways of presenting market data, and figuring out what tools the client needs in their solution that even they don't realize yet. While you will not be primarily tasked with the specific implementation of the visuals (colors, fonts, etc) since that's what a visual designer is for, you will be providing overall stylistic guidance.

We create both desktop and web-based applications; these may be in Flex, Silverlight, WPF, or any number of technologies. You will gain broad exposure to many areas of our clients' businesses and also a wide range of technologies. You should therefore be very adept at quickly learning new skills and terminology, and at building rapport with all sorts of end users.

Lab49 is an innovative firm with a strong emphasis on attracting the most creatively astute designers who possess the ability to engage well with our financial services clients. We're passionate about technology, architecture and design while fostering an environment that supports the creation of reliable, high-performance software.

Our culture promotes the constant improvement of our personal and professional skills by sharing with each other the latest research and new technologies available. However, we've found that natural enthusiasm for our craft is a key ingredient in our continued success and growth. Throughout the firm, Lab49 actively nurtures this intellectually innovative work environment.

Lab49 is continuously looking to expand our group of highly talented, senior-level UX creators. Driven by our mission, we engage on technically and creatively challenging projects that compel us to continually evolve our skills, both individually and collectively. Our team is smart, focused, relaxed and creative.

Life at Lab49 is good. We work hard and we play hard. All jobs come with full benefits and a nice salary. We value our people, and are committed to providing a respectful work environment with challenges appropriate to your experience and aptitude.
