Our Work

Our competitive edge is predicated on collaboration and flexibility.

We strive to engage only on projects with high business visibility and impact, as well as maximum technical challenge, in order to deliver truly transformative value to our clients. Accordingly, we place a very high value on our consultants' expertise with design patterns, proven architectural skills, and demonstrable skill with personal interaction - the latter is important in any consulting context, and particularly in the fast-paced business world inhabited by our clients.

Working collaboratively with clients is part of our culture and is critical to making our clients successful. Through iterative development and close interactions, we deliver what the business needs on a regular basis. As we gain feedback, demonstrate dependability and build trust, we are responsive to changes in clients' needs and priorities, thus refining our business solutions and ensuring client satisfaction.

Back in the office, we foster a friendly and collaborative environment whereby our offices are perpetually buzzing with client project work, application and technology research, internal learning sessions and social networking. We are sensitive to people's needs and ambitions while providing an environment for personal and professional growth. At Lab49, we ensure that people keep their technical skills sharp and up to date, their business domain skills relevant, and their opportunities interesting.

As a consulting company working in heterogeneous computing environments, the technologies we work with on a daily basis are typically driven by client business decisions. In recent years, the financial services market has generally been migrating its server-side technology to Java/C++ and its client-side to C#/.NET (using WPF/WinForms/Silverlight); although there are exceptions, the vast majority of the work we do centers around these technologies. Increasingly, distributed, low-latency platforms such as grid computing, CEP, and data fabrics are seeing widespread adoption within our clients. Other technologies we often leverage include ASP.NET and JSP/servlets; databases such as Oracle, Sybase and SQLServer; OLAP tools such as Microsoft Analysis Services; build and testing tools such as ant/nant, Cruise Control and junit/nunit; and so on.
