Learning In The Lab

Developing knowledge and skills is an immensely important effort within Lab49. We love to learn - whether it's new technologies, aspects of the financial services markets, or simply getting better at the practice of consulting - we're always running programs designed to help enhance our abilities, learn, and grow as professionals.

Research

The financial services market is constantly changing and evolving. At the same time, technology continues to advance and the rate of innovation is accelerating. Evaluating these new trends and understanding where they deliver value in the changing financial services landscape is an important part of what we do at Lab49.

From Complex Event Processing to grid computing to new visualization and internet technologies, Lab49ers have the opportunity and the challenge to continually learn about new technologies that are relevant to our clients' businesses. Through our rich ecosystem of partners we have a continuous stream of early technology previews, beta software, training and seminars, and close interaction with the product teams at our partner companies. This gives us the ability to stay on top of new developments and to continually expand our expertise and knowledge.

Demos

A great way to learn new technology is to do so within the structure of a project. At Lab49 we have a continuous stream of demos under way which provide our consultants with a great opportunity to go beyond books and training and get their hands dirty building new applications with innovative new technology. As a side-effect, these demos serve showcase our talents and our partners' technology.

Community

Lab49 runs .NET Meetups in both New York and London - a community-focused monthly event series. Designed as a place to meet and discuss all areas of the .NET platform, these groups are open to practicing, professional .NET developers and serve as a great way to get involved in the community and stay on top of new developments in the languages, tools, and practices of modern .NET development.
